Fast Charging

A term used for higher-power charging, usually associated with direct-current equipment.

Reviewed 05.10.2026 · Version 2 · Scope: General

How to interpret it

The label needs to be accompanied by figures: power, charging interval, and conditions. The term alone does not imply a specific charging time or guarantee that all vehicles can use the same equipment.

Example

Two hypothetical fast-charging offers may describe different intervals; comparing 10–80% with 0–100% mixes different measurements.

Why it matters to you

Helps obtain comparable details and avoid using a commercial label as a substitute for technical conditions.

Common points of confusion

Fast does not mean the session maintains the advertised maximum throughout. The vehicle and its battery also limit the process.
