Charging curve
A representation of how charging power changes during a charging session or across the state of charge.
Reviewed 05.10.2026 · Version 2 · Scope: General
How to interpret it
It describes behavior under specific conditions. Temperature, starting charge, and configuration may matter; an isolated peak does not provide information about the entire curve.
Example
A hypothetical curve with 100 kW for one segment and 50 kW for another is not equivalent to maintaining 100 kW throughout the session.
Why it matters to you
It helps interpret charging times and compare measurements that use the same interval and conditions.
Common points of confusion
It is not a guarantee of constant power. Curves from different vehicles, temperatures, or intervals should not be combined without explanation.
